NOC issued to Starlink! Big decision by the government of Pakistan
The Pakistan Space Activities Regulatory Board has approved the issuance of NOC to Starlink. After the approval of the NOC, the path has been paved for the PTA to grant a license to Starlink. It may take a maximum of 4 weeks for the PTA to grant a license to Starlink.
American billionaire Elon Musk has also set foot in Pakistan. On the instructions of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, approval was given to issue an NOC to Starlink to operate in Pakistan. After which the path for Starlink to obtain a license from the PTA has now been paved.
Starlink's satellite internet provider has also been registered with the SECP. After obtaining the license, Starlink will need at least a year to start operations in Pakistan.
It was necessary to obtain clearance from the Pakistan Space Activities Regulatory Board for Starlink's satellite service provider. The technical aspects of frequency, power and Earth Gateway stations have also been finalized. The Starlink satellite will be in low-Earth orbit at a distance of 250 to 500 kilometers.
According to IT Minister Shaza Fatima, the registration of Starlink was ensured on the instructions of the Prime Minister. The IT Minister said that Pakistan is moving towards digital development and this is an important step for the improvement of the internet system. The approval of satellite internet will prove to be a milestone for Pakistan’s digital future.
IT Minister Shaza Fatima further said that this innovative solution will lead to improved connectivity in the country, the government has worked closely with all institutions under the Whole of Government approach. The NOC was issued in consultation with all security and regulatory
institutions.
