TikTok introduces new features to compete with YouTube
Short video application TikTok has introduced several features in its desktop version to compete with streaming website YouTube.
TikTok is known worldwide as a mobile-first platform, with over a billion people using it for entertainment and creative learning.
According to a statement issued by TikTok, several features have been introduced to make the desktop version even better. Users will be given access to these features in a phased manner.
In this regard, TikTok management says that we are constantly looking for new ways to meet the changing needs of our users and improve the TikTok experience, so we understand that in some cases it may be more convenient to watch videos on desktop.
The statement said that now the desktop version will also include an Explore tab, while the For You tab has also been further improved. Similarly, the desktop version of TikTok will also be able to watch live streams of games, which is the most popular feature on YouTube.
Initially, TikTok allowed only one-minute videos to be uploaded, but later this duration was extended and now it is likely that all users will soon be given access to upload longer videos, i.e. videos of 60 minutes in duration.
