WhatsApp voice message transcript feature launched

WhatsApp voice message transcript feature launched, what will be the benefit for Pakistani users?

The popular messaging app WhatsApp is constantly working on new and exciting features so that users do not have to switch to any other application. In this regard, WhatsApp has launched a voice message transcript feature.

WhatsApp Voice Message Transcripts feature is now available in Pakistan. This feature allows you to convert voice messages into text, which is useful when you are unable to listen to the voice message. You will have to enable this limited feature manually. We will explain how you can use it.

First, you need to enable this feature in the app's chat settings. Tap the 3-dot menu at the top right of your chats menu. Then go to Settings > Chats > Voice message transcripts. Make sure your WhatsApp is on the latest version, otherwise you won't see the WhatsApp voice message transcripts option here.

As shown in the screenshots above, only English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian are available for transcription. This means that voice messages in Urdu will not be translated yet, but you can easily use this feature with voice messages in English. Hopefully, WhatsApp will provide support for Urdu and Hindi in the future.

Once you select your preferred language, it will download a file for that language so that the transcription can work. For example, the language file for English is approximately 138 MB. Once your file is downloaded, you are ready to transcribe voice messages in English.

As shown in the screenshot above, this feature doesn't understand every voice message, even if it's in English. It failed to recognize a voice message that only said 'Hellooooo', while it recognized a voice message that said 'Hello, how are you?' perfectly. Since this feature is still relatively new, it's hoped that this shortcoming will be add

ressed soon.
